Little to No Heat

Well .. It is a 1998 Blazer ..

I have already tried flushing the system and replacing the Radiator cap also new thermostat. The coolant and radiator look fine and when flushing no particles came out or things of that nature.

I get very mild heat coming out only when you have it on blend or on the floor. It is just enough to defrost my windows in the morning, but not enough for me not freeze going to work. When it is on Bi-lev it just blows cold air..

I did measure the temperature of the lines.. To and from the heater core it was roughly at 135+ .. On the Top of the Radiator is was in the 100's as well .. The bottom of the radiator hose (other side) was only in the upper 80's to 90's ..

Is there something I am missing ? Winter up here sucks and having no heat is a drag..

Any help is much appreiciated!!!

Heater core, head gaskets, intake gaskets can also cause this. What kind of temps are you seeing on your gauge? Any fluctuation after it runs for awhile like the thermostat is opening and closing?

The inside gauges are good .. The Temp gauge is at roughly 200 .. Which is normal .. No idiot lights or anything .. All the Temp guages on the dash feel fine .. Nothing broke or damaged.. No real movement on gauges.. Just the nrmal when cold and than heats up .. Never above or overheating ..

I had a similar problem with my 99 s10. The only time it woulf blow heat was while i was driving. I replaced the water pump and it solved the problem. But if your temp is normal that may not be it.

After allowing the motor to get up to operating temp, with the heat on, feel the inlet and outlet hoses of your heater core. I think that you'll find that one is much colder than the other.

If that's the case, it's time for a heater core flush.

Hope this helps.
