Locking gas cap

I would like a locking gas cap for my wife's 2005 Yukon XL. I got this part number from another forumn, GM part # 12497880 locking gas cap. Poster said it worked on a 2003 Suburban. Has the teather on it.

 

Went to the GM dealer and they said this is only for up to year 2001. Looked it up on their computer. I wonder if their system is just not updated or something ???

 

I really like the idea of having the factory teather, also I tried a NAPA locking cap and got the tighten fuel cap warning displayed.

 

Does anybody know if this part number (GM part # 12497880 locking gas cap), or another one for that matter will work on the 2005 Yukon XL ???

Would the L59 be the "Vortec 5300 V8 Flex Fuel Engine" ???
