I'm torn, I've been saving up some money in hopes of having about 4grand at my disposal to spend on doing a rancho lift and some 33" tires & new rims.  But, I'd also like to upgrade my interior & exterior: leather seat covers, custom rear seat, new speakers, power accesories, tahoe mirrors, custom floor mats, paint my flares red.

I will eventually do both, I just don't know what to do first.  If I do the rancho lift I won't be able to park in the garage, but if I don't my truck will look too small for my liking.  The cozier interior would be nice.

My whole intention is to have a good show quality truck for car shows in a few years.

Torn heh?

Here's a solution...send the $$$ my way!  :(

I can use it for repairs and maybe an upgrade or two.

Anywho...if you like parking in the garage...go with the interior mods.

well, I just started parking in the garage a few weeks ago, last winter it was out all the time.  The reason it's nice is because, no ice on the windshield, no snow, and the truck stays a little bit warmer.  Plus I can work on the truck during the winter.

yeah, but the truck would look great 4" up w/ some 33's.  Plus, I did make it through last winter w/o the use of the garage, I don't need to get dependent on it.  If need be I can always use the shop at work or my cousins garage w/ a tall door.

U have our blessing to get a lift and tires  ;)

go into debt its good for the econemy "keep america rolling"

what do you mean, go into debt, i'm already there.  I figure, just so long as I can make the payments on the truck I'll be fine.  Do you know how hard it is to try and save money when I want to buy all this stuff for the truck.  It's killing me.

I think I'm going to crack and do the lift, can someone hold onto my credit cards for me until then, because I'll keep spending the money that I'm saving up.

Anyone want to give me some money???  Just a few grand, support a good cause...

Oh c'mon, how about you buy and american flag bowtie for a grand, it's a good deal.

I'd go with the interior stuff. Get the lift next year. You spend your time inside the truck not outside. Plus Winter is here.  My vote..interior this year, lift next yr.

I'm not concerned about getting into the truck, heck, the trucks almost getting too small for me.  I'm 6'4, 6'5 now and getting taller every day.  Eventually I'm going to do it all, but I'm back and forth between what to do first.  Either one I do they won't be started until next summer.

Chevy4x4, looks like you answered your own question, your not going to do anything until next summer so SAVE YOUR$$$$!!!  See very simple.  Come next summer worry about it.  If it was my truck, to satisfy the urge to modify, I would do a PA 3" B/L and some 285's, then in the summer a Rancho kit and 315's.  Just my opinion. :(

    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
    • Thanks for posting, I'm sure it will help someone
    • New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?
    • So, GMCustomerService:  Judging by the Update History pictured above, is this truck missing any updates that it actually needs. If it's just for the infotainment system, the radio is working fine and no trouble with SeriusXM. and Android Auto is working fine wirelessly with my phone. Some months ago, an update notice was sent to my truck. I approved the update and it finished saying that the update was successful, but it seems that whatever that update was, it didn't actually get installed - at least not if I'm to go by the Update History shown above.   So, again, are there any updates that this truck really should have? I've checked with my dealer but they're reluctant or commit to anything and if I want them to check, they require a $200.00 fee just to check it out and then I'd have to pay for the actual update(s).    Ignorance is bliss, and if none of the updates goes to fixing any mechanical discrepancies, I'll just leave things as is.
