First Dents

Got hit today. We had some pretty icy weather here in Maine last night. I got to the job this morning, building a garage for a local couple, and parked the truck and trailer off to the side of the driveway. Started setting tools up and needed something out of the truck so was standing between the truck and trailer. The homeowner was loading her kids in the car at the time and I remember thinking it was going to be interesting watching her back out of the driveway. Well it was! She started backward down the driveway and I heard her lock up the brakes on the ice. She slid into the passengers door of my truck. Nothing serious but $1350 in damage. Her insurance co called to say they would have a adjuster come look at it and no need for me to get an estimate. I went and got one anyway. Now for the battle to begin. Cant wait to argue over a rental truck for a week while mine is fixed. Sorry to get long winded. Needed to vent.

Ya, helpless feeling. She was a basket case afterward. Must have appologized 20 times. No biggy. Just hope the insurance co. is ok to deal with. Don't really want to get mine involved.

That sucks bigtime. Some bozo already put a small ding (about a baseball size) in my rear bumper. Really takes the wind out of your sail till you realize that its just metal and can be fixed, but it still sucks!

Actually, I just remembered the first dent was a week after I got the truck. I coach little league baseball and thought I parked in a safe spot...........you know the rest. Right in the middle of the hood.
