Here's my 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 450 that I've had for a few months now. Finally got to ride a little bit this weekend, so of course I had to clean it, and decided to take a few pics. Since last time, I've added the ITP mud-lites, Savant Stick stoppers, and the driving lights. I threw one in of my extremely dirty truck too. ;)

Here's the ferocious (and retarded) beast that guards the atv, my sisters' pug "Chloe"... lol

I need some of those stick stoppers for mine..I'm always pulling crap out of there.

I don't think they make them for sport bikes though. :seeya:

Yeah, its amazing how much krap can get hung up in there.

I'm sure you could find a metal fab shop that would do it for your bike... I'd bet it wouldn't be cheap though. You could find some plastic or something (like cut up a rubbermaid storage container or something) and zip tie that in place. Probably look awful, but might work??

Oh...I could make them myself. I have quite a bit of scrap sheet aluminum laying around.

I'm just lazy :D

I also use that as an excuse to do more wheelies. Can't get crap caught in there if the front wheels aren't on the ground...Of course...I can't steer very well that way. :loser:

You're just saying that because your Rap-turd's (AKA Yamaha Raptor 660 death-trap) front wheels only touch the ground when the engine is off... lol

Heck, you sport bike guys aren't the only ones that can pop a wheelie. I can pull about three inches off the ground if I start off in low range 2wd, gunning it on grass or something it will grab onto well. LOL

The guy riding this 650 Prarie can do MONSTER wheelies. It's like watching a Tahoe do a 100' long wheelie. It's quite a sight.

I need to add some to my Sportsman too as I took out a boot last sping with it when a chunk of mud (that dried to a brick) got stuck in there.

How do you like the Mud-Lites so far? I put them on my Magnum 500 but have not had a chance to test them out 100%. Have worked ok in snow so far.

I've been really pleased with the Mud-lites. They ride smoother than the factory Maxxis tires on hard packed terrain, and have done awesome in the mud.

The only time I've gotten stuck is from high centering, never from a lack of traction... and it's been through some really nasty stuff. They clean out really well, and still look brand new after ~75 miles of mixed terrain. I'd definitely go with them again.

Have you used them in the snow yet?? I have the Goodyear Gatorbacks on my Sportsman 700 and they are TERRIBLE in the snow. I have gotten stuck atleast 5 times with them.

I haven't on mine, as we don't get hardly any snow here in Mississippi. It was going to be "cold" today, I think it's about 48 out there now... lol

Sorry man! I'd sure try it out if we had some.

Ive had them in the snow, and they worked great so far. I purchased them based on the shops recommendation that they were aggresive enough for the snow, and wouldnt bury me if I start to get in too deep. I use the Magnum to plow and spread salt on my driveway, which is prety steep, and I hav'nt had any problems yet.

Thanks, I may have to take a look at them then. The Gatorbacks are pretty aggressive but that is bad in the snow as all it does is make 4 holes in it. I also use it to plow so getting stuck is not good.

    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
