Got my new treads

Well after 31,000 miles the BFG AT's are about 97% done for and had to go shopping tonight. After about 20 minutes of trying to decide I opted for the Kelly Safari MSR's so now getting in and out of camp this winter should be easy. I know it's late now but has anyone had any experience with the Kelly MSR ? I've had the AWR's and they were a pretty good tire but never had these before.

You must have got a bad set of tires......I have almost 60k on my bfg at's now and should get 70k out of them before i feel they need to be replaced. But if you normaly get 30k out of your tires I would stick to the less expensive brands. I have never had Kelly tires so don't know too much about them.

I've currently got a little over 30k on my BFG's. I've got some abnormal tire wear going on that the alignment shop and I are working on. As a result, two of my tires are pretty good with 40-50% tread left but the other two worn on the insides. I don't know how long they will last but I'm hoping for at least another 15-20k or more. We'll see.

I had the kelley's on the work truck--lasted about 28,000 miles....50% highway 50% off-road construction sites

I have another set on there now they're the AWR's.

either way it's a good el-cheapo tire

Alot of people around here run Kelly tires. I think they are a pretty decent tire, but I've never run them before.

Most people I know run the AWR's but I know a guy at work that has the MSR's on his F150. They are a very aggressive tire and go great, but I don't think they are a high mileage tire..

Do you guys do burnout contests on the weekends?

I've got over 100,000km on the Michelin LTX's which is about 62,000miles and they've got 3/32 above the wear bars. In other words, they still look great. They should go another 40-50,000km. Maybe two years or so...

They are 265/75R16's and I rotate them every 10,000km

Unfortunately mine came with the Goodyears, lousy traction in the rain. Problem is I only have 16K on them and can’t justify buying new tires.

Mine came with the Goodyears too and I had no problem justifying getting new tires! I just had my wife drive the truck in the rain and that pretty much settled that  I put the BFG's on at 7k miles on the truck and I went up to 285's - the best thing I've done to my truck so far - they look better and drive better in all conditions. It was an easy choice for me. :)

I got 41k out of a set of BFG AT KO 295/75r16's. I plan to be buying 285/75r16's for my new HD.

KirkRHughes, I learned to drive in a '78 Pinto SE w/the 2.3 Liter OHC 4-Cylinder and 4 speed manual tranny. I didn't think any were left on the road.

I got over 65,000 miles out of my 295/75/16 BFG AT's. Had them on 2 different trucks. Getting 30k out of a set tells me something is really wrong. I'm not really easy on tires either!?! Lots of rough 4 wheeling in rocks and towing a 21 foot ski boat every weekend.

I have about 25,000 on my BFG A/T's, and there is still 7/32" left! I actually bought them when I had my Ram, and when I traded it in on the Sierra, I realized that the GMC had the same size tires (265-70-17) so I had the dealer swap my BFG's for the crappy Goodyears that the GMC comes with.

I realize that you were asking about the tires you bought, and not about how long everyone else's BFG's are lasting. I don't have any experience with the tires you bought, but I guess the only important thing is that you like them!

They look like they have a decent aggressive tread that will work well in the snow, if we ever get any. How do you like the way they handle in the rain?
