Just got a 3" body lift for christmas and was wondering what size tires would fit best on my truck. I have a 1500 HD with the tb cranked all the way. Any ideas or pictures???

I HAVE 02 1500 HD CCSB, LAST AUG PUT SOME H2 WHEELS AND TIRES ON

LOOKS GREAT. GOT THE IDEA FROM THE FORUM, TIRES ARE 315 70 17,

CRANKED TORSION BARS ALL THE WAY. STRAPED THE INNER FENDERS, AND

TRIMMED THE AIR DAM AT THE CORNERS, ONLY HAVE MINOR RUBBING ON

HARD CORNERING DURING SLOW TURNS.

LOOKING TO PUT 3 IN LIFT ON MINE VERY SOON. WHAT KIND OF KIT DID YOU PUT ON YOURS. ONLY ONE I CAN FIND IS FROM PROFORMANCE ACCESSORIES FOR MY YEAR. ANY INFO WILL BE APRECIATED. THANKS

Performance Acc. is by far and away the BEST bodylift kit out there. Although I've done bodylifts to all the trucks I've owned in the past, if I owned/bought a new truck, I wouldn't do a bodylift again. I'd save the $$ and do it right with a suspension lift. Each lift has there pros and cons, if you do a good job on the bodylift, move the rear bumper up and fill in the gaps between the bed and the frame and some sort of nerf bar, it can be hard for others to tell what you've done. I've had many people ask me where I got my suspension lift done, then I tell them it's a bodylift and I did it myself, they usually say it's one of the better looking bodylifts they've seen. A bad bodylift can be spotted without looking twice. You'll see the entire frame from the side and a huge 3" gap between the bed and frame with a rear bumper that doesn't line up with the rest of the truck. So whatever route you take, don't cut corners and finish it up right. One tip, instead of buying the $80 gap filler for the bed of the truck from Perf. Acc., just go to Lowe's or something and get a 6ft. long 6" strip of rubber roof lining/pond liner and use stainless steel bolts to cover the gap. Cost me about $10.

As far as tire size. My Brother in law has a 99 NBS Z71 with a 3" bodylift, 305/70's on 16x10's. We had to trim just a little from the front air dam and strapped the plastic fenders back. Looks pretty good. Chris

Meatywand, DUDE, I said a BAD bodylift has GAPS. Read my post again.

"if you do a good job on the bodylift, move the rear bumper up and fill in the gaps between the bed and the frame!"

Where's the confusion?? :wtf: Chris

my bad dude I was just reading to fast, I personally like body lifts because it allows you to fit bigger tires with a minimum of cuting fenders and crap especially if you have a suspension lift too, it really helps you squeeze a couple extra inches of tire in there
