Wiper Park problem

I hate to open up an old wound here, but I have a 2000 Silverado and I'm having a problem with the wipers. They work fine except for the "park" position. When they park, they actually come back up appx 2" on the windshield. Does the control board affect this or is this something to do with the motor mechanism itself. Would checking and or re-soldering any connections on the control board fix this, or is this caused by a contact or something on the motor assembly.

Thanks, Smitty

I've heard a few say that they've traced their wiper park problems back to the control board located on the motor...might even be an easy fix with solder like you mentioned.

Replace the circuit board.

The circuit board "reads" park. You can try the solder it yourself method, but the boards have gotten cheap enough that, depending on how much you feel your time is worth, it's cheaper to just replace it.

Hope this helps.

I'm with GMCTech :chevy:

The metal tang on the circuit board is probably worn out (the one that rides on the wiper timing wheel) I tried to put a bead of solder on it once and it only lasted a month..the whole module is only $30- $40. I was in an Auto Zone the other day and they had a complete module in their HELP section, sorry put I didn't get the price :D
