Alternator ????

I have 92 3/4 ton with a350 in it and the alternator is has two wires coming out of it the battery wire and a single wire on a pigtail. My problem is I bought an Alternator on ebay and the pigtail has three wires on it. How do I make this work!?

I'm wondering if the 2 extra wires are a necessity...maybe one is for a guage and the other is a PCM input or something. I know that with my alternator (99), there is a 4 pin connector with only one wire coming out of it. When I upgraded to an 02 PCM I had to buy a new connector and still have to run a wire to the PCM to get the battery light to stop flashing. (the 02's have 2 wires going to the same connector). Maybe somebody here has a schematic and some more input.

One suggestion...see if you can get the part# off of the new alternator and type it in to GMPartsdirect.com or the ACDelco website. It may give more info as to what year and amp output that the alternator is.
