I was going to check out a new C3 thats on sale for $30K and I got a real wake up call when I saw the mileage numbers on the window sticker.

 

What octane gas do these trucks usually run?

when i bought my f-250 the mileage was 12/15, i thought that woulden't be to bad, now i am trading my truck for a f-150 and get some more mpgs!

Thats kind of suprising.. But i found my gas ratings to be off..

 

Mine says 17 city and 22 highway and i get around 20 city and around 24 highway.. *gotta love that 5 speed*

 

I know its awd and all but those are kind of low numbers in my opinion..  I think there are one or two C3 owners you can ask here..

I may have an opporuntity to buy a 2001 C3, which the Service Manager is driving.  I don't think it has been registered and the mileage will be about 4,500.

 

The truck will be available on Oct. 8th.

 

It will be interesting to hear what the price is going to be as

another dealer has a new C3 for $29,999.

Those C3's are sweet trucks.  Their mpg's will obviously be less than a regular Sierra because of 2 reasons: 1) 6.0L of finely tuned motor (more hp than the HD's) and 2) All Wheel Drive.

 

From what I understand from C3 owners is that they are beating the mpg ratings on the window sticker.

I certainly hope so. I can beat that 11/14 in MY truck.

I caught a guy at the gas station during the summer who had a C3.  It had almost 15k then, and I asked him alot of questions, especially mileage.  He claims his get's about 17 on the highway.  I thought that was pretty good for that type of truck.  

 

The lightning's get about 13mpg best.  

 

29000 is a good deal.  The sticker is 39000 now.  I'd take one, but for that price I'd end up with a crewcab 4x4 3/4ton.
