PCV Valve

Never heard of anyone "cleaning" a PCV valve before. As cheap as they are to replace, why bother cleaning it? You can't take them apart to clean them properly anyhow.

Been doing it for years...I'll change it out every 10K...but every 3K miles I will spray carb cleaner in it, shake it, and put it back....if it doesn't wash out and there is major cake in there, there are major problems to look into ..if the engine is working properly and there is no major blowby from the rings from excessive wear...it doens't hurt to run a bit of carb cleaner thru them and wash it out. But your right, they are cheap....I just decide to change mine every 10K. :)
