low coolant message

The other day, I was getting on the highway, accelerating up the ramp when the low coolant message appeared. I got of the next exit, shut the engine off, waited a few seconds, restarted it and the message was gone. Last year the same thing happened , I was near the dealer so I drove in and the guy comes out and looks at the reservoir and says it looks good but he added a little dexcool anyway. He said the message comes on sometimes when there is no problem. Anyone else experience this?

I had that happen a few times under hard acceleration or braking. I added a small amount of coolant to the resi and it stopped happening. The sensors a little eager to register warnings I guess as my resi looked 'full' and the truck temp was normal. Hasn't happened again since I topped it off.

Mine does it all the time. I was told that the plug-in connector gets a little dirty, blow it out and the problem solved. I havent tried this yet. I just watch the light, and my buddies say "dude, better check your coolant". whatever

I'll check that connector. Is dexcool only available from dealers?

You can get it anywhere. I got mine at the hardware store.. Havoline branded, but the same stuff far as I can tell. It will call out Dexcool right on the front.
