Lyndon Wester bent over backwards to send me a few PCM's no charge till we worked out a PING problem.

Long Version:

I wanted to get a little more out of my Whipple, so since I originally had a Westers tune, I contacted Lyndon and got one sent out.

It pinged, mainly because of 180 degree thermostats and CA 91 Octane Oxygenated gas.

So Lyndon sent me a few more PCM's to try (no charge, just my shipping fees back to him), and I finally got one that was so close to not pinging.

We talked about lack of aftercooling on the Whipple, and then I remembered the Whipple kit DID NOT have a 160 degree thermo.

Ordered a 160 degree thermo from TByrne.com (funny I found it real easy, but Whipple still does not ship them in their kits ) and the latest PCM works great!

Now, Im wondering about the previous 2 or 3 PCMS and if they would ping.

Anyway, Westers was great to work with and they were extremely helpful. The Whipple is now singing away under the hood, making a few unsuspecting cars wonder how that big Suburban beat them up the ramp entering the freeway.

Heck yeah !!! Everytime I've ever dealt with him or the lady on the phone, they were both super nice and friendly, Lyndon takes the time to talk to you, email responses are quick.

Yeah I loved my original Westers, but with the Whipple I wanted a little more!

I found out yesterday Whipple is now selling 160 degree thermo's on their web site. Hopefully they will be included in future kits.

I will probably Email Lyndon, but does anyone know if he has any new tweaks for the 2003 8.1L 93 octane tunes? I am still VERY happy with the one I have, but its been a year or so, and I was just wondering if anyone knew if he had any new tricks up his sleeve?
