mac3897 Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 I will asked the experts on this site for advise as you have been very helpful with other questions. I have the oportunity to get a 2005 2500HD stickered at $37500 for close to $25500. I am very much considering buying a new truck to plow with and trading in my 02 1500 Z71. I have a 7.5 foot fisher MM2 plow on my truck now that I think I will have the dealer rinstall on the new truck. I realize that the bigger truck can handle a bigger plow but aren't the wheel widths the same on both of these trucks? Does this sound like a good deal? MAC
mityike Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 What motor, tranny, and trim package? Is this new or a GM exec / demo?
mac3897 Posted February 10, 2005 Author Posted February 10, 2005 It is a brand new 2005 2500HD extended cab 4x4 LS with all options except leather. 6.0 liter engine, auto tans, locking read diff, 2 front power seats, even the bose stereo. Mac

JRKRACE Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 I say go for it too. Just beware that it's gonna cost you around 800.00 beans to swap the plow over to the new one. Frame mounts and wiring are going to be different from 2002 to 2004.

MS3DALE Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 I say buy it! Sounds like a hullava deal to me as long as its the color and got the equipment you want
mac3897 Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 I say buy it! Sounds like a hullava deal to me as long as its the color and got the equipment you want <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the advice. If I was going to order one this is exactly how I would order it, even the color. I am meeting the dealer tomorrow to work through some details about swaping a plow from old truck to new. If they can work that into the deal ok, i think I be driving a new truck Monday. Mac
Chevyfreek Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 That is a darn good deal, go for it is right! Just make sure it has the Snow Plow Prep package on it....
mac3897 Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 Well I did it. I bought the truck. 2005 2500HD LS 4x4 excab. The rebates and discounts totaled a little under 13,000. Plus They are installing the a new Fisher 8 foot plow for $2,000. It was a deal of a lifetime I couldnt pass up. I will post some pictures soon. Thanks for all the advise. Mac
Truckman031 Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Congrats on the new truck, time to change the sig.
dogzapper Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Congratulations on getting your new truck. Please post photos. Steve
dewfpo Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 $13K off and a new Fisher for $2K.......? Did you bring a gun with you when you made the deal? Jealous DEWFPO
mac3897 Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 Fixed the sig. No gun but alot of GM reward dollars. Now if I can only get the MPG to 14 I will be one happy guy. I plan on putting a tonneau cover on the bed, use synthetic oil and I am guessing after the engine breaks in and the gas goes back to the non-winter gas I should come close in mixed city/highway driving....at least I hope so. I have a pic but I am not sure how to post on this forum. Hope this works. Not the best pic. I will have to take a better one with better light. Mac
sky-raptor Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 $13k off MSRP!!!! I hope I can get that good of a deal when I get my Silverado SS.
