G80 Clunk

Hey guys I went camping this weekend, went through some mud and my G80 locker locked as designed but when the lockers lock there was a pretty audible clunk. Is this normal?

Yes, all I have heard the G80 do this. When I first got my truck I thought..what was that? But I went to a dealer and tested a new one, same noise,2 and then read about it here, ..normal ...they can also sometimes stay locked a bit until you go around a corner...may hear it unlock/clunk etc. then also...just depends on the terrain and traction conditions....Is this a new truck? If so, you should change the fluid around 7500 miles or so...recommended...but yes, the noise, normal, later

The truck is 9 months old. I have not changed the fluid out yet. A project for a rainy weekend.

Have fun , I had the dealer do that for me...easy if you have a lift and all the proper tools..I do not. The noise will still be there after the change...as I said it is normal (will sound different depending on what traction the other tire has)...but they recommend the change after the rear has had some miles put on it initially and esp. if you tow...after that you should be able to go to ~50 or 75k before the next change (not sure though...any help?) I watched when they changed it, good learning opp. for me. I like learning how things like that work...later,

Yeah the G80 makes an audible noise.......I jumped on it once on a wet washboard road to pass and it sounded like an M80 going off back there . The passenger even said what the #ell was that. Try stopping with one wheel on the blacktop and one in some wet grass and give it some gas...you will be surprised
