Campaign to replace rear wiper arm

Recommended Posts

Posted

Does anyone know bout a campaign re. rear wiper blades not cleaning the window completely (mine only wipes the upper 2-3 inches & smears the rest of wiper span) on 02-04 Trailblazers, Envoy, etc. I read on another TB site about this...its Campaign #04-08-007 It says the arm has to be replaced due to corrision of the pivot joint. Any info you have will be appreciated I'm sure by everyone on this board!

It's not a recall, it's a service bulletin. Totally different animal. And, you left out part of the bulletin number, but I found it. :happysad:

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

Correct. You might get more vehicle-specific answers in the future if you go to the SUV section. None of the trucks in this part of the forum have a rear wiper. The admin split the forums up last weekend, so now we have the compact pickup section and the compact and midsize SUV sections. Just an FYI...

If yours is still under warranty it's free though. ;)

(Love this site. If I still had my '03 TB I'd have had 3 separate problems fixed by the dealer, including this one, that I thought I just had to live with..)

Called my dealer up here in Canada and they ordered the parts for me as well as a new HU because the buttons on mine were fading. It's nice to have a dealer that cares. :wtf:

Yep, same problem. My dealers Solution: "we lubed with WD40 after cleaning the salt and grimme out" It was replaced in early 04. This last solution was just 3 weeks ago.....better get back in with bulletin cause we have 39,5XX miles on Envoy

This section is for Trucks and SUVs of this size. This is the place to post info and questions for TB, s-10 Blazers, s-10 Pickups, Colorados, etc. FYI...

I posted that when the forums were still split into an SUV forum and a P/U forum and this topic was in the P/U forum. Guess I should have edited it when they were merged again.

No Prob. Sorry about that. I've been unable to get online until recently and am just getting caught up on my reading, I should've done a little research too. Thanks.
