Escalade cluster in Silverado?

Just wondering has anyone installed a Caddy Escalade cluster in their Silverado? I checked around and I know it will work, just wondering how everyone likes the look of the Escalade cluster?

Also, I was wondering what the deal is with the mileage from the odometer having to be swapped? Is that a big procedure?

I've got one in my HD, I know that when you install them in the 1500's the trans temp gauge starts to work, as far as the mileage goes you can have it reprogrammed or put a sticker on your door with corrected mileage, odometer starts off at 000000miles memory is in the cluster not the computer. :0

Hey, 8.1 HD, would you be interested in selling your factory one? The only reason that I wouldn't mind changing mine out is because I would like the trans temp gauge.

But for me to go out and buy an Escalade cluster is just too much doe!

First off welcome to the forum. And yes, you can put a cluster for a denali, silverado, suburban, HD, escalade, pretty much any full size GM vehicle into your truck. They are all the same shape and you just unplug the old one and put the new one in.

The only drawback is the mielage will read 0. If you don't have a tranny temp gauge the escalades will work as soon as you install it.

Looks awesome in my opinion, this is another one of those things I would like to do to my truck. It is in the issue of Sport Truck magazine. That is the only reason I picked that issue of the mag up.

It looks really easy. They say to have the steering wheel tilted down fully, the key on and transmission selector in low. Pull the surround from around the gauge cluster. Remove four screws that hold the cluster in place, then unplug the cluster from wiring harness. Intallation is the reverse.

Sounded too easy to me.They said you can get the cluster from Traders for $400 plus exchange.

I just got mine in today. Installed in my Graphite interior w/Denali bezel it looks awesome! I will get some pics up soon.

Ordered mine for $231.95 from Dal Slabaugh w/Van Devere - no exchange! Don't exchange yours!

I sold my HD gauges last week for $277!! I made money on this deal.. hehe.

Anyone know the part # for that sticker?

whats the Denali bezel look like? Is there anyway to update the Mileage?

The escalade has a 120 speedo and white fauce gauge, I think the Denali is the same as the silverado's but has a 120 speedo and tranny temp gauge.

Don't quote me on this I'd have to go and check.

What features are you looking for? I had my eye on one of them that had the 120 speedo and the tranny temp gauge w/ the same appearance as the silverado and the price was about 160.

This may sound like a dumb question, but I just don't know. Is the Escalade/Denali cluster the ONLY way you can get the tranny temp gauge? Or is this gauge sold separately?

And while I'm on the subject, (although slightly off topic). Why doesn't the tach have a redline?

I'm wondering the same thing, can you just add the temp gauge to a 1500 cluster? I like the Silverado cluster, but it would be cool to have the trans temp too.

Sorry, but you have to add the whole cluster. I guess it would be possible to add just the guage, if you were able to get a cluster from a salvage yard. You could take the parts needed out of the junk yard one and add it to the one you already have. Still might not work though.
