Brush guard ?

The trucks may be different because I believe you have the old bodystyle.  But, my brushguard had a piece of angle bracket for the mounting bracket that used the existing tow hook bolts.

I have the same guard as chevy4x4 (go rhino)

Like he says it uses the tow hooks.  With this guard the tow hooks can still be used.  Many places will say they have to remove them (to make it easier for them) TELL THEM YOU WANNA KEEP THEM.  Mine are fully functional and wasnt gonna get a guard if they had to be removed.  All the places except where i got mine told me they had to be removed.

Chevy4x4 and Ryan, the one Im looking at is the same as you two have. I am going to install it myself to save some money. I found a deal on the Rhino Grill Guard, nerf bars and tail light guards. If I can leave the tow hooks on the truck, I will.

i had my grill guard installed (along with side winows tinted) all for like $400.  The grill guard was like $340 and the tint was $60.

If you need any better pics let me know

WORD OF CAUTION the go rhino tail light guards suck. Mine didnt last a year.  They were all rusty and flaking.  I took em off and replaced them with westins and they are SO MUCH NICER and clean looking.  They have no sign of rust at all and they are 6 months old already.  My go rhinos are packed away in a box.

I installed my Brush bar myself.  All in all took about two hours including assembling the brush bar.  When I was done I reinforced that top decorative bar w/ welds because the aluminum screws on it stripped out and it didn't sit tight.  Since then I coated it w/ rustoleum and a few coats of spray on bedliner.  Trust me, not only does it really help protect against rust, doesn't chip like paint, and IMO looks a lot better.  It has a sort of speckled look and not quite as much of a shine.

also the go rhino tail light guards use 2 screws (1 you have to drill ino the side by the tail light (hidden by tailgate).  And on the side of the body you attach velcro.

Hmmm maybe ill spray some bedliner on em and sell them?

do you seriously want them?  You will need some velcro to apply on the side of the truck

Let me know

I was wrong. The grill guard Im buying is the Rancho gaurd. It looks the same as the Go Rhino one though. I figure for $400 for everything I mentioned isnt bad. The tail light guards I havent really seen on any trucks around KC. So, if I dont like 'em I'll just leave them off or sell 'em.

Yeah, I'll take 'em.  I'm sure I can get them looking good again.  Just hold onto them until you go to the dunes.  I can grab them then seeing as how I'll probably end up going to the dunes

If you want to pay shipping i can ship them out.  (shouldnt be that much)

I have em boxed up already

I'd skip the Go-Rhino step bars ...get Westins or Maniks....

my Sumatra 4000s have rusted pretty badly and one of the pads is coming up...I thought about have them striped and re-coated, but I think something like a stainless or those platinum chrome ones would be better.  I'll post some pics of mine later to show you what I mean.

    • This is a really late reply but I just found this thread. They won't sell the hinges. I've gone 7 rounds with them. Their solution is to buy a new cover. I'm about to buy a new cover and it won't be a Bakflip. It also won't be from realtruck.com.
    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
