wearing rubber gloves?

How many people wear latex or latex free rubber gloves when working on their vehicles? (especially changing oil) I thought I might try some, but I'm worried that the gloves might melt when contacting hot engine parts.

I wear them if I am working on the vehicle or if I am using chemicals while cleaning/waxing the vehicles.

I thought about it once but was also worried about the melting so I just bought a pair of Mechanix gloves and love them.

Yes, but if you look at my gloves and the arms of my racing suit you will notice that I tend to frequently rest my arm or grab the header straight off the track.

A dentist noticed that his next patient, an elderly lady, was looking very

nervous so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves.

 

"Do you know how they make these gloves?" he asked.

 

"No, I don't" she replied

 

"Well," he spoofed, "there's a building in China with a big tank of latex

and workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands,

let them dry, then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the

right size."

 

She didn't crack a smile.

 

"Oh, well. I tried," he thought.

 

But five minutes later, during a delicate portion of the dental procedure, she burst out laughing.

 

"What's so funny?" he asked.

Haha, yes I find it rather amusing the things mom and dad's friends will come up with when I tell jokes or tell stories.

If I am working on the brakes and wheel bearings, I use latex gloves. If I am doing anything else, I use my Mec's!
