Take a good look at the pic... Did you notice I started polishing the stock pipe??? It's still got a way to go, but it's starting to shine...

Looks good... I had one of those and it ended up back at lear more than a doozen times... The windows leaked, the bolts that hold the windows in leaked... Lear makes the worst caps out there... They could not get it fixed. I ended up with my money back. Never again will I buy a Lear product.

A.R.E. All The Way! after I heard the horror stories about Leer.

A.R.E. no problems at all, except with a third brake light that blew out, but, was replaced for free by Dealer, even out of warranty.

Here's my Cap:

Finally got mine repainted to match the new truck. No carpet set up for me, I take mine off and on too much to make it permanent. Mainly a place for the dogs in the winter, and a place to lock up things during my shopping runs.

Shaners,

I have that exact truck (except GMC). I am really interested in a shell (that's the word for them around here). How much did it set you back and, by the way, how did you go about polishing the tailpipe? That looks pretty sharp.

I had $1300.00 installed with the carpeted headliner (price includes 6% PA sales tax and a $70 Leer online rebate coupon).

As far as the tailpipe goes, I used NeverDull (Eagle One?). Just rub a hunk of the wadding around on the pipe and then buff it off. Just keep doing it over and over and it will start to shine...
