blacking out white letters?

Recommended Posts

I was curious if anyone has figured out a way to blacken white letters on tires. I bought some new tires and have the blackwalls facing out but you can see the letters under the truck. I know this is anal, but is there a way to color these? I suppose some flat black spray paint would work, but would it last or mess up the balance of the tires? A big permanent marker? Gimme some suggestions.

Thanks

Dont think a little bit of spray paint would throw the balance off of your tires, but if they were mine I wouldnt spray paint them or anything on my truck....Black marker will probably be your best bet...

If found M.E. Miller Black Tire Paint when I was shopping for tires about a year ago. Decided not to buy the tires I was looking at that I would have needed it for. You might be able to get a local tire retreader to sell you a smaller amount, don't need much as I recall.

I had my Revos mounted white letters inside...

I got a pint can of black tire paint at Kragens (or your local auto parts store) and used a small round tip art brush about 1/8" dia. and just painted the raised white area of each letter. It only took about 5 minutes a tire. I did take each tire/wheel off and flip it over to make painting easier that laying under your truck.

The result is, it looks great!
