roof running lights

hey guys i was wonder what the best way to put visor lights on my truck.. i have a gmc 1500 pickup and i was wanting some of those running lights that go on the roof..

 

Like here....>Lights

 

how hard would it be to mount these .. would i need to drill a whole in the roof and if so could that be bad...
