Hello all,

Im looking for some advice, I have a 1991 Sierra 1500 V6 pick up. It is dead.. no click, the motor does not even try to turn.

I changed the starter and solenoid, changed the positive lead wire from the battery, the control module tests fine, the fuses are all good. I am just at a dead end on what I think it could be.

The battery is good all the lights turn on fine. I changed th oil on it and drove around town, came home to grab something and when I went to turn it back on , it would not do a thing.

any help?

Did you change the starter and the cable AFTER it didnt start? Or did the "no start" happen first then you tried the starter and cable?

Any how IF you changed the starter and cable AFTER it would not crank, I would check for power at the small wire at the starter solonoid. It should have +12v while the key is turned to the Start position. If there is no voltage, I would check the Ignition Switch and Neutral Safety/Rev. lamp switch.

Ifr you had changed the starter and cable then went for a ride, and returned, and would not start back up, check for loose connections at the start solonoid terminals.

Of course I recommend that you consult a repair manual as to proper test procedures, and follow proper safety precutions! disclaimer :D:D

Yes,

I replaced the solenoid/starter after it would not start.

I am gonna have to find a meter to check out the wire from the Iginition Sw.

Ill try that next..
