97 k1500 Knock sensor question

How do I remove the wire from the knock sensor in my 97 suburban? It looks like it is molded onto the sensor when I slide back the rubber boot. I tried to wiggle it at the crimped end to see if it would slide out but no luck. I do not want to break if off. Thanks in advance.

 

Okay, Someone told me what I thought was the knock sensor was the Temp Sensor and that the Knock Sensor was on the passenger side. Will replace it this weekend.

The knock sensor is located on the right side of the block near the oil pan. The other you are talking about is water temp sensor in the left head towards the front.

 

To remove the connector you have to squeeze and pull (knock sensor) and the nut is 7/8 if I remember. The coolant will run when it is removed so have a new one ready unless you want a bath.
