Beware the Tree Rats

So here is one for you...

 

For the last few days my trucks (aftermarket) alarm has been sounding poorly.  This morning, I decided to figure out what was happening with it.

 

I popped the hood and looked inside the hood, and what do I find, but a small pile of plastic bits, and a piece of a rib bone.  Seems the local tree rats (squirrels) had decided to pack the horn with thier winter supplies.  When the center cone on the siren got in thier way, they just ate the end out of it.  

 

I am not sure when these industrious little !@#$@#$@'s pulled this off, I have been working from 6am to 7pm the last 2 weeks, so the truck ain't often home.  However, they found time.  Now I just gotta find some time for some 'target practice'  ;)

 

Well, off to the alarm shop in a week or two for a new siren I guess, and yes I have checked the rest of the truck, looks like this was the only fatality

My friends Lumina was running like crap last year...  found out that chipmonks had packed his airbox full of junk.

Before you put in the new siren you should put some chicken wire over it.  And maybe even elecrtify it if you want to really stop the squirrels.
