My 03 5.3L silverado w 67,000 miles is giving me the check engine light. I'm thinking of buying a code reader. Are the cheaper ones say less than $100 worth it? Can I get enough usefull information out of one to justify the costs? Any models or brands to look for?

no reason to buy one of those cheap code readers for personal use since most autoparts stores will pull the code for free.
