I have a Tekonsha Voyager that i pulled from my Excursion and need help installing into a Yukon XL. Is it as easy as buying a new harness and plugging into a factory plug under the dash. Please help

You need the harness for your model/year tuck. Double check wire functions, some wire color functions changed, not sure what year or when. Also a fuse needs to be installed in the underhood electrical center, 60 amp, Stud 2 I think. The harness plugs in under the dash to the left of the steering column. Top row second from the left.

Check the glove box of your Yukon. I know GM includes them with the Silverado's. GM changed the harness in 03 (?) I believe. As asilverblazer said, you'll also need to install the fuse in the underhood fuse center; mine was taped to the wiring harness for the controller. Really simple install if you can find the harness. If not you may need to talk to a dealer parts dept.

Just in case you lost your owners manual to for the brake controller her is the Wiring instructions from the Tekonsha web site

You can download the whole owners manual if needed. You will need Acrobat (or PDF reader) to access the manuals.

You will need the correct GM brake wiring harness that goes from the modular plug below the dash (just above your left foot) in the foot well. Remove the plastic cover on the box. You will also need to install the correct fuses in the Main fuse box under the Hood.

You must get the correct GM wiring harness for your Model Year as GM reversed 2 wires around 2003 even thopugh they all look the same these 2 wire switch will not work correct if you have the wrong one.
