Small leak under front of truck

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I have a small leak - it probably drips one drop every other day. Anyway I will describe where I am seeing this to the best of my knowledge. Anyway Where the right front wheel attaches it goes to a boot and from the boot into something else almost in the center front of the truck. It looks like a square that turns with the wheel. Right where the square is I am guessing there is a seal where it attaches. It seems as though thats where the drip is. Does anyone know what it would cost to get this fixed? It is out of warranty. If someone could post a diagram of the underneath of a truck I can pin point it.

I think you're talking about the axle seal.

 

The first time I did it, it took probably an hour. The second time, about 20 minutes.

 

It's not that difficult of a job.

 

Now, as to how much it would cost to have it done....I really can't help you there.

That does sound like an axle seal. If the truck is still under warranty then yes, that would be a covered item.

I appreciate it - I will have it checked out to ensure its the axle seal. So your guessing it would take about 1 hr for a mechanic to fix it? What about the part. how expensive is that?

Found out it was the axle seal - Thanks guys!!! It was about $200.00 to get fixed since they do both that the same time. Oh well hopefully no more leaks.
