Automatic scrolling on stock headunits?

Do the stock headunits automatically scroll text from XM? I have an iPod adapter that emulates the XM tuner with respect to text display of song title, artist, etc. The text will scroll as long as I repeatedly press the 'display' button, but if not, it just displays the first 8 characters of the song title.

 

Is there some way to have it always scroll automatically?

On my '04 headunit it never would. I had the single cd and the in dash 6 disc and neither would. You could temporarily view the name and song title, but that was all. It kinda sucks.

My XM is the XM Commander unit, which is aftermarket. I don't believe XM came from factory on the '02 Tahoe's.
