Neurotic Fuel Gauge

I have had the 'Burb for about 3 months now. One thing I have noticed is that the fuel guage seems a little neurotic.

I drive 4 miles to work each day. In the morning the guage may read 3/4 tank. However, when I come out at lunch, it will read 7/8 tank. So, how is the tank getting more fuel while it sits? The trip back to work, it may or may not be back to where I expect it to be, and the same for the trip home at the end of the day.

The problem occurs the entire way through the tank range, that is it is not a problem when the tank only has X amount of fuel.

Is this the start of a bad fuel sender?

. . .get in line (with the probably 100k+ of us with the same problem). Most likely the fuel sending unit. Obviously this is a faulty product but GMC/Chevy refuses to take responsibility for it. Look up fuel sending unit problems on this website - you'll find lots of support.

O I C... Today mine has gone real flaky. It is showing near full, I have 160 miles on this tank. Guess I will give the warranty a shot.

I know with mine I'll get around 200 miles to 1/2 a tank but she drops fast from the half mark, can only get about another 120 from there.

I have never really relied much on the fuel guage anyway, however the wifey.... Anyway, I have been getting close to 370 on 26 gallons of fuel. So, I can pretty much just watch the miles and be fine. Since I drive it 99% of the time, I guess I will just have to make sure it is full before the wifey decides to drive it.
