Has ur Ally slipped?

Recommended Posts

Recently, i've noticed as i approach a stop light and slow down, nearing a full stop, the light will turn green and i apply gas to go. The ally seems to then be in neutral-- RPMs jump, give it gas-- but no go. Then it sudddenly slams into gear and away we go. kinda unnerving to say the least. this happens only occasionally but i'm concerned.

any ideas from the experts?

The allison "learns" your driving habits. If there is a drastic change it could do what you are saying. Another thing may be that you need to change the filter and or get a tranny flush. One more thing may be the size of your tires. I would try to narrow it down and see what it is before you get too excited.

Are you sure that it's not your rear differential slipping? I have the 6.0l/4L80E combo with the G80 locker and it has done the very thing you describe, intermitently, since it was new (now have 65,000 mi). I took it to the Dealer when it first did it and, of course, they said that it was NORMAL.

Mine hasn't done it in a while, but it is always after I have stopped at a signal light and then started to go. It rev's for a half-second then bites.
