spray in bedliners

Hi everyone

new guy with first post. I've been reading this forum regularly since I got my truck in dec. an 05 2500hd cc sb d/a. and want to say thanks for the ton of info I picked up on this forum.

OK to the point. I'm looking into getting a spray in liner and have it narrowed down to either line-x or alpha. I know a few people with line-x who can't say anything bad about them. I know one guy with an alpha liner but it's too new to make the call. Both liners look similar and have the same warranty, but alpha is $100 cheaper.

Any suggestions

I can speak for Line-x, it is a great liner (had it on a '99 Sonoma). I have never heard of Alpha but maybe someone will chime in that has it. The last bedliner I had sprayed in (on my '03 GMC) was not the Line-x brand but appeared to be the same thing. I had the truck two years and didn't have any problems.

Never heard of "alpha" I checked around here and the truck places have not either. Needless to say I got the Line-X including over the rail spray on. the best thing I ever did. Especially the over the rail part

I also haven't heard of "alpha" but can speak volumns on Line-X. I love mine, especially after having Rhino and whatever that crap was that Z-barf used to use.

The only thing I've had issue with on my Line-X is the forward panel of my bed at the top corners. If I load something heavy and it bumps the panel (hard), the liner is a stiffer compound and tends to crack at those two upper corners. No biggie though, the boys at Line-X cold patch it and I'm good to go. It's only happened to me twice so far.

Well I know why nobody's heard of alpha. I just did a search on the web and found out there are only 4 dealers nation wide, 3 in Utah and one in the Las Vegas area. However, I learned that they both (line-x and alpha) use the same chemicals and application method and have the same life time warranty. So I guess the real question is who will be around in a few years to do a repair if needed. I think I'll put my money on line-x.

Oh ya, over the rail definately!

I went with LineX on mine as it has a lifetime nationwide warranty. The Alpha may be just as good but do you want to be the beta tester for it? So far I have had a 2000lb pallet slide across mine and 2yds of red bark mulch in mine and other than it needing a good hosing out, still looks like new. The only regret I have is not going over the rails but will probably get some caps for that.

I am now on my 3rd truck with Line-X and I love it. I've never heard of Alpha and Line-X has been around for awhile and has dealers nationwide, plus a Lifetime warranty. If Line-X costs more, I believe it's because it's worth it. You get what you pay for!!!

Well I did it. I went with Line-x, had it done about a week ago. It looks awesome and seems tough as nails. I haven't really put it to the test yet, but I will and I'm sure it will hold up to it's reputation.

Thanks for the replies and advice.

My friend and his dad each have a speedliner, i wouldn't personal go for that one, it might be ok if it was sprayed thicker, but one of them has done tore about two one foot strip by draging a pallet...thats not to tuff...
