nav for 2500 HD

Can someone tell me what i need to get...i have the 2004.5 LLY Crew cab with the indash 6 disc bose XM radio and i have rear factory DVD ....i want to upgrade...this one is literally brand new as of last week...had mine replaced under warranty for a new one...the buttons on the old one where wearing out...thanks for the help

...yup 287 non-lux. The newest one should have the best performance. Don't forget to add a VSS switch for the most options. It lets you disable voice, or reprogram on the fly. You'll also need the antenna and a v3 disc.

I have a 2005 Avalanche with a non lux 6 disk Bose system. I want to change it out with the newest Nav HU. Is this a Plug and Play install ? What is VSS switch ? Dose it have a GM part # ?

Not plug and play, but close, you have to find the VSS wire behind the dash and splice it to your HU harness as I recall. The VSS (variable spped sensor) disables certain functions when underway for safety/distraction purposes. A switch to interupt the signal, will allow you to navigate/input while driving, or better, a passenger.

 

No part number involved, just a technique a few people have a adopted in the install.

Are you sure this it the correct part #15229287 for the Non Lux Nav system ? My dealer says it is $297.77 !!! Who is making the mistake ???? Is this the wrong part # or is this the wrong price ?

I tried putting a 15229287 in my 06 2500 and it dosen't work. When I turn the Nav system on the clock comes on in the bottom right hand corner and then goes off after ten seconds. Just getting frustrated.
