K&N Air Filter

Well I finally broke down and bought a K&N Air Filter (walmart sells them now I was surprised to see them cheaper than most places). $40 one time vs $26 each time was the kicker.

 

I have to say I do notice a very small improvement in the trucks response.

I'm not impressed with the K&N filtering capability at all. I put a K&N in the pontiac we own and silicon levels went WAY up. Silicon levels in a oil sample represent how well the air filteration is working. I put the regular paper filter back in 3 oil changes later and the silicon levels are WAY down to normal now.

 

I personally wouldn't do the oil filter thing again. For the SMALL amount of "performance" its not worth it.
