Need some info on some resonably priced skins in the midwest. What do you have, how much were they, and would you buy them again?

Continental Sportiva from Tires plus I believe.

$500 mounted and balanced. I had to fight with the guy about them fitting. He swore they wouldn't fit.

Tires are OK. No real complaints. I don't think they will last as long as some other tires. They have a little road noise but not much.

I would buy them again at this point. I've had them for about 8k miles.

I have the Bridgestone Revos on my Z71 Sillverado. So far they are the best all around tire that I have ever had. With 20000 miles on them, they still look new. The handle great. Excellent traction in the rain and in the mud out at the in-laws farm. I'm in Tx, so I don't have any info on how they handle in the snow/ice... They are very quite for an AT tire too.

I picked mine up at Costco on sale (by 3 get 1 free). Mounted, balanced and with the road hazard warranty stuff... About 500 out the door for 265 LTs load range C.

When the wife's Tahoe need new tires, I will be putting Revos on it as well...

James.

I almost forgot, if you are wanting a cheap, but decent tire, Wild Country is popular around here. They have several tread designs. I don't have any first hand info. about them, but I do see a lot of them on the road. I forget who makes them.

Call Kevin at Laney Tire in Ohio...(740-543-3802)He owns the place and I ALWAYS get a great deal...even with shipping...last time it was Michelin LTX's, time before that Sport Kings, time before that BFG...LTX great for mostly on road, Sport Kings and BFG about the same...except for the price...Sports much cheaper...lasted 50K for me...I am also looking at the Revo's...hmmm

I run Yokohama Geolander AT+II and they are an awsome tire. they have an aggressive AT tread which makes them great when you get off road but still quiet on the the road. The traction is great in ALL conditions. The wear has been great so far and they look cool too. The price for my 285's was right at $135ea mtg/bal/hazz and out the door. I would buy these again anytime.

Multi-Mile is the brand. They are Made by Kelly-Goodyear. They are ok tires. They've made some changes in their line and no longer offer the tread pattern I really like. I may look into another brand for my next set. But, I've been happy with the set I have.

Thanks for the replys. I really like the conti sportivas...good resonably priced. I just got a quote from the local Firestone store for some 285 Revo's and about crapped myself...$800+

I've got 50,000 on the OEM wilderness ATs and still have 7/32 left. I like the revos as well but come on...talk about nailing you to the wall.

Anybody know anything about the sportivas? Neat looking tire but can't find any place that carries the 285s.

I bought a set of Nitto Terra Grabbers in 285/75/16 and like them. They felt mushy the first 200 miles then settled right in. Have 20k miles on them with at least 3/4 of the thread left. Great in the rain, snow and dry. Have yet to run them through mud. Cost was about $125 each tire.

I actually got my cont. sportivas cheaper because they price matched walmarts liberators. This was at the local tires plus. I was planning on doing the walmart tires because $$ was a little tight. Divorce will do that. Walmart would not mount the 285's because they were not factory sized tires. They told me if I brought in the unmounted rims they would mount the tires but they wouldn't do it on the vehicle. That made my decision much easier. I'm not at all unhappy with the cont. but my next set of tires will probably be bridgestones just because my uncle runs the local firestone. At the time I needed tires the firestone was closed because they were putting up a new building.

My only dislike with the sportiva is they have a little road noise. Not allot. Not enough to bother the average passenger but they do hum just a little.

If you check on walmart or sam's club just make sure they will actually mount the size you want.

Blue, are the sportivas the same tire as the liberator?

I just got a place in town to order 4 sportiva's in 285. Mounted, balanced, road hazard and a front end alignment for $600 after tax. I can live with that.

I really like the look of these tires. I wish I could find a pic to post to show everyone what they look like.
