DIC on a 2005HD 05 GMC

When I bought my PU it was the last one in this area to be had

so I took it as is, without my the the options that I would have

liked to have. My question is can I add the steering wheel DIC

now, and what might be the cost of doing so.

YES, it can be done, but the reading is not for the faint of heart. There's four pages of messages exchanges and it took us 1 1/2 years to figure it out. Once figured, it was simple.

In short, you gotta have a cluster that has DIC turned on. More than likely yours isn't. Get one from eBAY that came from an SS or Escalade. You gotta pay some $$$$ if you want this. If you really perserver, you can have yours flashed to turn the DIC on, but you have to have a really nice dealer.

Secondly, you'll have to build a cluster of four switches, or buy a switched steering wheel and harness. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ The four switches are certainly cheaper. That's what most of us did.

Finally, read these four pages. Go SLOWLY. I'm starting you off at the message where we all started shouting VICTORY! You'll find that I asked lots of questions and I "just didn't get it" for a long time and then WHAM! It all worked:
