Z71 Suspension, Tires

Recommended Posts

My truck's sitting way too low for my interest. I can't stand to see the new fords pass by with more height than me, so I'd like to beef up my suspension just enough to give my truck an edge. The Z71 height is perfect for me...not too much to where I have to recalibrate and all, but just a littler higher. What's the easiest way to achieve that height from a stock light duty stance? Also, what size are the stock Z71 tires (I might run BFG 32's if this mod gives me the clearance)? Thanks in advance.

We need to know what kind of truck you have first off. Z71's came with 265 75 16-17's Not any difference in suspension except for shocks between a 4x4 or 4x4 z71.

I'm fixing to pull my z71's 2" rear lift blocks out...they will be available if interested.

FYI - The front on the Z's are torsion bars.

I looked around a little (very little) but found that pro comp makes a 3" lift for your truck for $600 It comes with spindles and a add a leave and shocks. You should be able to fit 285's with a small kit like this. Would have you 1" above a stock 4x4.

i say that you need to replace the z71 2 inch block in the back with a 3 inch block, get new shocks, and get some ford keys to replace the torsion bars so you can crank higher.

2wd doesn't have torsion bars...It's got springs. :seeya:
