Retro hood power dome

I have an 05 Z71 and I want to put on a Power Dome hood. My vehicle is brand new and I have found two paint bubbles in the hood. I am hoping the dealer will replace the hood rather than painting it. If so I want to pay the difference between the regular hood and the Power Dome and get beefier! Give me some feedback and ideas!

That would look good! :sigh: ,But you also are going to need to change the grille too,Its different.

I don't think the dealer will replace the hood just for two paint bubbles,They will just sand down the bubbles and repaint the entire hood.

Do you know if there is an article somewhere that compares the two? I see the 2006 Limited Edition Earnhardt Silverado SS will have the bigger hood.

If there is only a defect in the paint there is no reason for them to replace any hardware. They will only get paid from the manufacturer to refinish it.

If you insist, one day I was making a peanut butter and

jelly sandwich and I had the hardest time getting the peanut

butter to stick to the jelly, so I , well nevermind.

:sigh:

I do know somewhere that on another forum that someone changed over to the dome hood and grill, both need to be changed and I believe it cost him total around 12 or 1300 dollars from the dealer body shop including paint and its just a parts change out.

you could check the junk yards for a wrecked truck that is the same color.  That would eliminate the paint work and you could get everything you need.

Interesting concept - but we are talking about the grill and the hood. How many wrecked trucks are sitting in a junkyard with a perfectly good hood? That my friend I think would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Not around here...I don't think that there's a part for a Chevy that can't be found in one of about 3 places in town...Except for the airdam off of a Z71 tahoe complete with fog lights. :sigh:
