Grille was kind of free, just painted my stock chrome one... been that way for a couple years now. I just touch it up now and then (maybe once a year or so). The insert was $161 shipped.

what type of paint did you use on the factory chrome grille?

I painted the whole thing...

 

I used Krylon Fusion believe it or not, worked out really well and for about $4 a can I can touch it up once a year, which is all that it really needs. Only takes about 15 minutes to get it all ready, paint dries in 15... From start to finish it's ready for the road in about an hour, but I usually let it sit overnight just to really let it dry good.

 

The only part I ever need to touch up is the crossbar piece, the rest is just fine where there wasn't any chrome.

 

I might get an all black grille eventually, but for now this way doesn't bother me.

Yes, Onyx black... pretty cool how close the black Fusion is to factory, but I guess black is black for the most part.
