Launching a Z71???

Can someone please set the record straight on how to best launch a 4x4 without hurting your Transfer Case or whatever? I ran last night against my buddy's Titan and beat him twice b/c I had a better RT, but he ran a 15.4 to my 15.5. His best 60' time was a 2.2 and mine, with Auto Track engaged was a 2.3. B/f I tried the AutoTrac on my last run I was running 2.6-2.8s and spinning bad. I didn't chance running in 4WHI, but I figured AutoTrac would be ok. I only launched at Idle too fearing breakage, etc.

 

So Please fill me in on what to run it in and what RPM/Brake Torque to launch at.

 

I am thinking 15.2-15.3 if I can launcher harder and leave clean without breaking anything.

Thats a high time for a Titan even if it was a 4x4.

 

But I launch in auto4x4 and switch out of it as soon as I hit 2nd gear. Thats been the best for me so far.

what times do you run Mark? 60' 1/4 Mi Trap speed? Does the truck have any issues shifting out of auto on the fly like that? What RPM do you launch at? What are your tire PSIs at?

 

What do you see Titans running?
