Up grade and add a transmission temp gauge.

I want to ad a transmission temperature gauge on my 2000 Sierra.  Is it difficult to remove and replace the instrument panel and wire the truck up for a gauge?  Thanks in advance.

There are a bunch of guys here that have done that mod and from what they said it is fairly easy and straight forward.  I'm sure one of them will help you out...

Hey,

         I have added an aftermarket tranny temp gauge on my 99 silverado .. with the 4L60E Tranny..  Instalation was a breeze, i just took out the transmission test port, and screwed in my sending unit (1/8 in thread).  Mine is 4WD so i had to work around the front driveshaft, but did not have to pull it out.  Wiring was fairly easy to run to keep it out of things...  I mounted the gauge on the pillar running along the drivers side of the windshield.

You could always add a 3/4 ton gauge cluster.  Then it would look stock but might be pricey....  Guys that have gone this way aren't regretting it at all because it is a totally stock look!

I changed my gauge cluster and I am glad that I did. Like Shanners said I prefer the stock look.
