cat converter removal

Question to the GM gurus,

When running duel exhaust on my 03 2500 HD 6.0, can the cat converters be removed

without any problems with the trucks computer, or will it throw codes due to altering emissions stuff? I know w/out the converters the motor should breathe better and maybe wake up a little, anyone done this yet?

well you douches went out of your way to avoid his question, any way man you can cut them off but it will throw a code. Get a set og O2 simulators from Casper Electronics, you can cut them off with out the computer freaking out if your running those

No, actually they didn't. If you would have payed attention to the initial post and the following responses, then you would have seen it. I am sick and f*cking tired of people not reading posts, and then blurting out some profound statement that they think is so cool. Below I am going to point out that his question was answered and your a dumbass for making your post.

Answer 1: you're going to get codes from the rear O2's. there is little to no gain in removing them, i have no idea why you'd do that.

Answer 2: The newer cats. are high flow and unless you increase displacement you will never need larger cats.

As you will clearly see, the first question he asked was answered. "The vehicle will throw a code from the rear 02's." The second question was answered in a different form. "There is no need to remove them, the new model converters are high flow". "The newer cats are high flow and unless you increase displacement you will never need larger cats." They are trying to tell him that there is no need to remove them and it would be a waste of money. Last but not least, 02 sim's suck balls. Research s**t before blurting it out.

Next time read the post, analyze it, and then type your response. :banghead:

And let's not forget that it is highly illegal to remove the cats.

And Meatywand is also the person that in an earlier post couldn't figure out where to put O2 simulators on his own truck:

O2 Sims

Illegal never stopped anybody. So that throws the legality bit out the window. If you have to pass a sniff test in the state your truck resides, dont do it. Yes it will set codes, the rear O2's will get whacked. Get O2 sims or have the rear O2's turned off with a tune. You may gain some up high, nothing drastic and no real gain down low. Exhaust may get raspy depending on the muffler being run. There really is no need for true duals either on a stock truck. Unless you really feel like blowing some cash.
