How to get the lumbar control off.

So I'm adding some seat covers and want them to look semi-factory. I need to get the manual lumbar knob handle off, but it covers the screws to remove it. I studied it for quite awhile and don't see a good way to get it off. This is for a 99 NBS manual front seats, the knob on the side towards the front.

i believe all that is required is a firm tug towards you, should pop off.
