Unknow Hose

I have a 2001 GMC 5.3. My AC Belt broke. When I was looking into my belt problem. I found a hose. A single hose with no clips. I am sure it was thrown off when my AC belt broke. I looked and looked. I can not find where the heck this hose goes. Anyone have an idea?

That's a pretty vague description, don't you think? I'd say it goes wherever it came from.

Duh.... it came from right there (points into engine compartment)

Yes, Yes, Very vague. A pic would be a good idea. But how many hoses that don't have a clamp can there be on the engine? Not many! Plus how many hoses without a clamp can there be in reach of a boken AC belt. Even fewer, would be my guess.

A little more information would be useful, in any case. Even if you can't supply a photo, knowing the diameter and length of this hose might be a clue. Is it 1" long and 3/8" in diameter, or is it 2 feet long and 3/4" in diameter? Just saying, I have this hose, where does it go, is not very helpful in taking a guess at what you have there.

Could it be a piece of "debris on the track" that got kicked up into your engine compartment and threw the belt?
