illmac77 Posted February 14, 2002 Author Posted February 14, 2002 ill try but i dont have a digital camera on the tube section of the kit farthest away from the filter were the it buts up against the engine per say, where the 2 hose clamps are and the rubber hose that joins it to the engine... right there it is melted to where there is a gap where air or what ever can go directly into the engine
bassdog Posted February 14, 2002 Posted February 14, 2002 I've seen something like this somewhere before, not sure if it was on this board or out on the web. K&N should send you a newer design replacement part for free. Give them a call, I think they will take care of you.
chevy4x4trucks Posted February 14, 2002 Posted February 14, 2002 Time to break out the Duct Tape Haven't had any problems w/ mine, but I'll be sure to look at it now to double check. Does it look like it was melted from just engine heat or friction from something rubbing on it?
illmac77 Posted February 15, 2002 Author Posted February 15, 2002 well i just got a email back from K&N, the tech said the prob. cause was a weak seam on the tube and colapsed when i tightened down the hose clamps. they are sending me another tube, asap. so everything will be ok once again
Stepside Z Posted February 15, 2002 Posted February 15, 2002 I have not had any trouble with mine. I will check it this weekend just in case.
