We got another one brewing and looks like it's heading our way, so don't expect timely replies to any questions you may have. Besides preparing at home, work is a little crazy too.

It's still pretty far off, so no one knows for sure, but it is projected to come right across South Florida (where I'm at), hopefully only as a category 2. Right now it's a 5 and the strongest storm ever recorded in the atlantic basin!

This is getting tiring. Putting shutters up, taking 'em down, putting 'em up, taking 'em down. Jeesh.

Be safe and take care of yourself and family first. I know you have experience with these storms. I lived through a couple down in Mississippi in the past. Then went down back in September to do relief work after Katrina. I had never seen anything as bad as that, not even in the combat zones of Afganhistan or Iraq.

Have a good day.

When I heard about another storm I got a knot in my gut. I think it would be nice if I had a shutter or for that matter a house to put shutters on. Sorry its coming for your guys but we can't handle another storm.

BS man...You better not leave. You get off your lazy butt, buy a laptop and WIFI card, then go camp at a Barnes and Noble for the next week...You're letting down the 17,000+ members of GM-Trucks.com.

Kidding man, good luck, and stay safe. :chevy:

Looks like we got a little reprieve. If it makes it here at all, it'll probably be Monday instead of Saturday. Still way to soon to tell where the heck Wilma will go, though all the computer models agree on South Florida somewhere. 50 miles one way or the other can make all the difference in the world!

Hurricanes SUCK!!!

I went thru Hugo in '89 in the Carribbean, a #5 and lost my business, home, car, motorcycle et al.

More excuse for the oil co's to jack us around. :chevy:

Did it ever! Man, that was a nasty one. The winds were howling, we could hear stuff ricocheting off the roof for several hours. Power went out early, even before the real nasty stuff started. Amazingly, we got our power back this morning. Nearly a million are still without power, so we're really counting our blessings.

The roof got stripped of quite a few shingles, our screened in patio is toast, fence along the width of the backyard is down and out. Crap all over the yard.

I went by work and it looks like we'll be down and out for a while. No power, the 6 huge roll up doors for service are all flapping in the breeze. Can't open or close 'em, so no way to get any cars in our out. No power so it's black as night inside, lifts don't work, no computers, etc.

Great! Glad to hear that! And good luck cleaning all this mess... I got some more on tv today, man, flood everywhere! And boats that are in places they shouldn't be :D

Well it's our turn here. We have a snow storm happening right now. Nothing really serious though. It's quite early in the year to have snow, but we all seen worst. Electricity didnt go down here, but did in some farther towns.

Best of all, this weather is 4x4 paradise ;)

That was probably mostly in the Keys or right on the coast. Wilma was an extremely dry hurricane. The streets around here were barely wet at the height of the hurricane! We get more rain from our regular summer thundershowers.
