Alignment woes

Well, just got tires a few weeks ago. I had the truck aligned at the same time. Went to NY and back to Baton Rouge. Last week steering was off to the left. Truck drove straight but the wheel was cocked to the right. Heard a poping type noise under the truck today when turning. The alignment guy did not tighten up my tie rod end nut on the drivers side. It has backed off about 1/2 an inch. d**n glad it didn't come undone on the way to NY!! Will be paying them a little visit tomorrow morning.

Dang...That would have made for an entertaining ride to say the least :(

I would definately be ripping somebodys butt over that one.

Glad you made it all right though.

I had my ball joints replaced at Les Schwab in Olympia Washinton one time. When I was driving, I kept hearing a squal when I was turning to either side, I took the tire off and discovered the bolts they had used were too long and were eating into my rims. Man was I torqued. Unfortunately, I was leaving the next morning to drive across country for my new job and din't have time to go bitch at them, I wound up cutting the bolts off with a cutting wheel flush with the nuts. I HATE having someone else work on my trucks.

I've had some alignment issues also on my '04. I had it checked after i bought my tires (ended up being a radial pull not the alignment), but i've had it back to the alignment shop a couple times and it's still not quite right.

I'm going to a new shop because i'm convinced the current one is incompetent, but they said there's a toe problem on these trucks and that they are difficult to align? anyone know anythign about this?

Fixed it with out saying a word. Not that I expected it not to go that way. I have used these people for over 10 years, they pretty much know me even the guys that work in the back. The alignment tech came out and apologized, he said he tightened all the alignment hardware with a "fury" this time. They do good work, but I guess everyone screws up once in a while!
