I don't really know what that is for...there is nothing even remotely close to it on my 1/2 ton truck.  I was thinking maybe it was for the 6.0, 8.1, or the Duramax, but I haven't looked under any of them yet to see.  It was going to take a lot of extra work to make it and was totally unnecessary (on the 5.3, anyways) so I just left it off.

Thanks guys.  I did some calculations on it considering time, materials, etc and came up with what I thought would be a fair price.  For a primered one I think that I could make a primered one for $45.00+S&H or primered, painted, and clearcoated for $50.00+S&H.  I hope this seems to be a fair price.  I can paint it in black, silver, just whatever colors.  I will also trial fit each one to my truck before sending it to make sure that it works.  

 

However, I need about 8-10 people wanting one of these things before I can come out ahead buying a whole sheet of steel, so y'all try to find some other people that might be interested in some of these.

  This is steel and it will rust.  However, I did primer, paint and clearcoat mine so I think it will hold up very good.  I considered going with aluminum diamond plate but the material costs about 3 times as much as steel and it is not nearly as strong.

 

Would any of you be interested in this?  I hope that the price seems fair.  After considering the steel, primer, paint, clearcoat, saw blades, cutting wheel blades, drill bits, grinding wheels, etc and the time it took to cut, drill, and fit this thing it was the price I came up with.  Like I said before, I'm not trying to make a killing or anything.

 

If we get at least 8-10 people (or better yet even more) then we can start seeing about getting them made, shipped, etc.  I am excited about this and hope y'all are interested!

Here's what I'm thinking about the color:  How about just sending the ones you make out primered and then we can paint them ourselves?  I think if I get one I'm going to just cover the front and back with flat black spray on undercoating.  That should be a little more impervious to rocks and road debris, which is what that plate's main function is for.   By the way-shipping/etc for these things (I'm guessing) will probably be in the $15-$20 range due to weight so keep that in mind.

 

And Duck...don't forget about the gas tank skid plate!   ;)
