2003 Sierra EC 1500 SLT brakes question

I have never owned a full size GM pick up before so I was wondering if the brakes are supposed to feel "spongy" and if it is normal that more pressure,

than what I am used to, needs to be applied in order to stop these heavy vehicles. I guess I am used to more sensitive, responsive braking that I had even in my 2003 Dodge Dakota, a much lighter truck.

I bought my GM Certified truck used from a dealer and it only had 24K on it so it can't be that they are wearing out already right?

Thanks in advance.

hard to say. Your definition of spongy and mine may differ, so I can't say whether or not what you're feeling is the way they feel. Worn brakes don't cause the brakes to feel spongy.

I just purchased a 2004 Silverado 4x4 and I feel the same way as you. These brakes just feel soft compared to any other vehicle I've owned including six other trucks. I bought it with the optimum warranty and was told by the dealership that everything was checked thoroughly. I'm going to take it to an independant mechanic and get his opinion.
