Just wanted to say hello. I just joined today and have already found some really helpful advice and seen some great trucks. I just got a new 2002 Silverado LS w/5.3 a couple of weeks ago. No Pictures yet, because work has been so hectic, but will rectify that soon. I had a 97 C1500 before that. (I live in L.A. and have no reason for 4x4 even though I do love them) Anyhow that is it, glad there is such a great site dedicated to GM trucks.

I'm surprised to hear some of the other members say there aren't too many of us Far Westers at this forum. Doubtless they're right about this (npi), but can't figure it, since you see huge numbers of GM trucks around here. I'm in Eureka, TomTom, other end of the State from you.

Hey everybody, according to my dealer this is the TPW for my truck!! Soooooooo, maybe it'll arrive before the end of the month.

Welcome to the site Tom Tom, I'm another LA guy here. I'd like a 4X4 also, but wouldn't be able to use it very much. I'd like to lower the truck also, but I have to use it for work and don't want to loose any capacity. Just have to stick to minor mods I guess.

Hey all, this is only my 2nd post. I'm from So Cal also. Just bought a black 02' Tahoe Z71 in Jan. I don't really use the 4x4 but I liked the non-chrome, color coded exterior of the the Z71 package. Plus with the GMS price and 2002 cash back I couldn't beat the price.

I've learned a lot from this board, on what mod's to get and from where. I'll post some pic of my ride in the future.

I've added a K&N FIPK, Flowmaster 70 series muff, Hypertech PPIII, Denali dk grey wood dash bezal, and door kit, and the Hill 4WD 2.5 inch front leveling kit. Tires are next.

Welcome to the site. I'm south of you in Orange County. I have a 2002 Avalanche with 4X4 just for the few times I will want it. We get out to the desert once or twice a year and I will now get to see parts of desert that I couldn't see before. The AV was built to be versatile and I hope the 4X4 adds to that concept. I have learned alot from this site and have tried to give a little back. It is becoming part of my daily routine.
